Satellite dish mounting pole

The location selected for the satellite dish installation must have a clear view of the southern sky. The specific azimuth and elevation of the area that needs an unobstructed view depend on which satellite signals are desired. Most satellite dishes come with a mounting pole and foot plate designed for installation on a roof or wall. Bolt the foot plate securely in the desired location, making sure to put the appropriate type of sealant under it to prevent leaks.

Use the mounting pole's adjustment screws to make sure the pole is level in all directions, assemble the dish, and attach the LNBs. Place the dish on the mounting pole, adjust the elevation using the gauge on the dish, and determine the azimuth using a compass. Point the dish to the settings specified for the satellite being targeted, and get an inexpensive digital satellite finder, which is available on Amazon.com, eBay.com and many other places. This tool makes tuning the satellite signal much easier. When the satellite signals are acquired, tighten all of the bolts on the dish securely.

Run the appropriate number of RG-6 satellite dish cables to the house that are needed for the number of receivers being serviced.
